Our
client is a highly regarded, Dallas based, independent consulting firm
that provides engineering
consulting, testing, and research services to businesses in the private sector
and entities of the U.S. Government. These
services include materials and mechanical engineering consultation in failure
analysis, product design, accident investigation and reconstruction, process
control, and material specification; metallurgy; computer-aided engineering and finite
element stress analysis; mechanical testing; scanning electron microscope
analysis; and technical consultation and expert witness testimony in product
liability cases.

Responsibilities
& Relationships:
|
The Staff/Sr. Staff (Consulting) Engineer will report directly to the Company President
and
be responsible for performing professional research, development, design,
testing and failure analysis activities. In
accomplishing this, the incumbent will perform in-depth engineering,
analysis, and testing of mechanical functions and failures; conduct field
accident investigations; create and maintain documentation for audit
approval; make oral and written reports, evaluations and other
communications to both technical and non-technical personnel; prepare and
deliver proposals conveying innovative, leading edge engineering
approaches to technical problems, and provide expert witness testimony as
required.

Qualifications:
|
The company is best known for their work in
aviation and motor vehicle failure analysis.
Therefore, the successful candidate could possess expertise in either
area, or in metallurgy in general. This position requires a diversified knowledge of
precedents in materials science and a broad, solid knowledge of principles and
practices of mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and materials
applications.
The successful candidate MUST HAVE an advanced
degree in Mechanical, Structural, Aeronautical, or Metallurgical Engineering or Materials
Science, with Ph.D. preferred.
Other
desirable qualifications
of the ideal candidate would include:

Professional
Engineer (PE) license or the qualifications and willingness to obtain a PE.

Sufficient professional or consulting experience
to assure technical competence in either the aviation/aerospace or motor
vehicles arena, or metallurgy in general.

The ability to devise new and innovative
approaches to solving problems.

Above
average interpersonal and oral communication skills, including the ability
to convey confidence and competency to both technical and non-technical
audiences.

The
writing skills necessary to communicate in a manner that is founded in
sound, established engineering principles, and presented in a clear and
logical format that can be easily understood by non-technical personnel.

Compensation:
|
The successful
candidate will not only receive a base salary in the range of $80,000 to
$150,000 per annum, plus incentive compensation,
bonus, 401K plan and relocation assistance, but he/she will also have the
opportunity for equity participation.
